Warren County Adult New Readers, an adult literacy program, will hold a free Laubach Literacy workshop in Lebanon to train volunteers to tutor adults who need help with their reading. This is a chance to help adults living or working in Warren County who need tutoring because of their low literacy skills or who have a desire to learn English.
Tutors meet with their students at the public libraries in Warren County. Volunteers from all parts of the county are needed.
The workshop will consist of four three-hour sessions.
Sessions will be Tuesdays, March 13 and March 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays, March 17 and March 24 from 9 a.m. until noon at the One Stop, 300 E. Silver St., Lebanon.
Linda Graves, a Laubach trainer, will conduct these classes. Registration is required and tutors must attend all four sessions (12 hours) to be certified. Tuition and workshop materials are free.
Registration forms are available at the libraries in Warren County and the Adult New Readers office at 300 E. Silver St., Lebanon (lower level). Call for more information at 513-932-2323 or email wcanr@earthlink.net. Class size is limited; deadline for registration is March 7.
